New Range of Bolsters Grips the Market
Astor Bannerman continue to innovate in the bathing and changing market with their latest product launch of the Astor Grip Strip Bolster Range.
The Astor Grip Strip range of bolsters and support cushions was developed alongside a team of Occupational Therapists to ensure the correct shapes, angles and applications, giving maximum added comfort and support to aid bathing and changing.
Each bolster has a “Grip Strip” system which will hold the bolster in place on any dry surface by simply applying a small pressure over the grip strip. The bolsters can be easily removed and repositioned time and time again by simply peeling the bolster away from the surface it is “gripped” to.
The bolsters are made from PVC fabric and are fully sealed and completely waterproof, and can be fully submerged in a bath.

Senior Mechanical Engineer, Ahlam Qattan, who developed the range, explains;
“From our discussions over the years with Occupational Therapists, and our more focused recent research, we recognise the importance of offering people the ability to customise their support aids. We have delivered a bespoke system that gives multiple support options with an integral mechanism to hold the bolsters in place firmly, yet allow repositioning time and time again.”
The range also includes a patent pending Head Vacuum Support Cushion. This offers a unique combination of foam and vacuum cushion. By vacuuming air from the cushion, it can be moulded to the required shape to give added support, but with the foam combo, comfort is not sacrificed.
There are a selection of variously shaped bolsters to offer the flexibility required to cover many different support needs. The bolsters can be used individually, or by using a combination, a versatile and custom made support system is easily achieved.
With many versatile uses the Astor Grip Strip Bolsters add comfort and support to a whole range of different changing, bathing, showering or seating surfaces. And with the grip strip system used to hold the bolsters in place, you can rely on the support bolster remaining in the set position for as long as you need it to be there. Need to switch things up? No problem! Simply remove the bolster by peeling it away from the surface, and you are all ready to reapply it in a new position. The bolster will peel away cleanly leaving no residue behind – just the original smooth surface. The bolsters are made from PVC fabric and can be easily cleaned using standard cleaners.

The full Astor Grip Strip Bolster Range includes a Head Wedge Bolster, Knee Wedge Bolster, Half Moon Bolster 500 mm/ 1000 mm and Head Vacuum Support Cushion. The bolsters are available individually or in sets. These bolsters sit alongside Astor Bannerman’s current accessory and support range which includes the Astor Neatfold Bath Cradle and Body Support Cushions.
