As one of the largest Leisure Centres in Swindon; The Link offers the residents of Swindon and surrounding areas many sporting facilities including an Ice Rink, Swimming Pool and Sports Hall. OpeMed were approached for our expertise in disabled lifting and disabled changing equipment to assess and advise on a custom designed facility to accommodate the rise in disabled users.

The facility was recently renovated in 2012 to appeal to the wider market needs of adults and children including sports clubs and events. As part of the regeneration, the leisure centre provided further support for disabled users including a number of clubs, teams and lessons.

OpeMed supplied the following equipment for the disabled changing facility:
– OT200 Ceiling Hoist
– XY Ceiling Track System
– Height Adjustable Changing Bench
– Height Adjustable Wash Basin

The moving and handling equipment supplied by OpeMed is designed to accommodate users up to 200kg for all changing requirements. The Changing Table is height adjustable to fit to the carer’sheight and the OT200 Ceiling Hoist is fixed onto an XY Ceiling Track, providing full room coverage so that the user is not restricted from where the hoist traverses. This disabled changing area is available to both Leisure centre users and the general public accessible via radar key.
