Trouble Shooting Steps

  1. Test the battery with a voltmeter or multi-meter
    1. If the battery has over 24 volts, proceed to place the battery on the lift’s control unit.
    2. If not, you will need to replace your battery, unless you have a HIWIN battery (see system identification section) then you will need to contact the warranty department to have a battery rebuild form sent to you.
  2. Once you have a fully charged battery on the control unit turn the key to the unlocked position or position the red knob on your control unit in the upright position.
  3. Depress the buttons on handset and watch for movement
    1. If there is movement in one direction but not the other (Rotational Series)
      1. Switch the plus in port 1 and port 2, this should give you movement in the opposite direction.
        1. If you get movement in the opposite direction … Replace the control unit
        2. If you get the same movement … replace the component that is not responding
      2. If there is no movement, listen for a relay clicking in the control unit
        1. If there is clicking in both sets of directions (Rotational Series) … replace the control unit.
        2. If you get clicking with only one set of directions (Rotational Series), switch the port 1 and port 2 cables.
          1. If you get clicking with the same buttons … replace the handset
          2. If you get clicking with the opposite set of buttons … replace the control unit
          3. If there is no clicking, proceed to depress the emergency return button (Non-Rotational Lift)
            1. If there is clicking … Replace the handset
            2. If there is no clicking … Replace the control unit
  4. If there is clicking, proceed to depress the emergency return button (Non-Rotational Lift)
    1. If there is clicking …. Replace the actuator
    2. If there is no clicking …. Replace the control unit
