The new Changing Places WC facility will offer disabled users, carers and family the opportunity to change and care for the user in a comfortable and hygienic environment. We supplied an OT200 Ceiling Hoist, Changing Bench and Telescopic Shower Rail as part of the Changing Places WC standard package.
Stansted Airport called in the services of OpeMed this year to increase their accessibility for the new changing areas for disabled users under the Changing Places scheme.
At present, the Airport offer special signage, seating areas, parking, standard accessible toilets and shopping assistance for disabled users but saw that there was an increasing need to offer a changing area for disabled users and their carers to use.
The new facility is situated after security checks in the departures lounge. Users will be able to make full use of this changing space by the end of 2013.
The equipment in this changing area will be situated in a multi-user environment with limited resource for
monitoring by staff. This specification therefore needed the ability to self-charge and is simple to use
without supervision. The unique OT200 is self-charging and can be used 24/7.
